ABOUT US

Our Mission:

The mission of Our Savior Lutheran Church is, with God's Power and guidance, to BRING people to Jesus Christ, to BUILD them to mature faith in Jesus Christ, and EQUIP them for lifelong service to Jesus Christ.

What We're About:

Our Savior Lutheran Church is a fellowship of believers committed to learning and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our ministry provides spiritual care and growth for people who desire a living relationship with Jesus Christ. our love for the Savior and our faith in His promises calls us to reach out to others, inviting them to join us in serving Him and one another.

How to Join Our Savior Lutheran Church:

    1. If you are coming to Our Savior Lutheran Church from one of our sister congregations in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, you may become a member by TRANSFER. A simple letter of transfer is available from the church office to transfer your membership from your present church to Our Savior. Once your transfer is received, we then require you to attend the class, "Discovering membership" prior to joining.
    2. If you belong to another Lutheran church body and desire to join this congregation, the process you need to follow is called AFFIRMATION OF FAITH. Sadly, there is still a variety of beliefs and understandings among Lutherans. To erase any possibility of confusion, we ask that those who come from another Lutheran church body attend a class called, "The Lutheran Church Today: So what's the difference?" Once you have completed this class, we then require you to attend the class, "Discovering Membership" prior to joining.
    3. If you are new to the Christian faith, or are not a Lutheran by background, we ask that you attend the "FOUNDATIONS OF FAITH" class. This course leads participants in discovery of the Bible's teachings and the main doctrines of the Christian faith. It includes a lot of questions and answers in a very pleasant, non-threatening way. Having completed the class, we then require you to attend the class, "Discovering Membership" prior to joining.

A Brief History of Our Savior Lutheran Church:

In the early 1980s, area LCMS pastors saw a need for a new church in the fast growing southwest part of Minot, and in 1984, our Savior Lutheran Church was formed. The families of Our Savior originally met in the gymnasium of Edison School. In 1986, the congregation purchased land and built its first building. As the Lord provided growth, the members of Our Savior began an ambitious task of bringing others to faith in Jesus Christ. In 2000 and 2004, the congregation completed its second and third building phases in order to meet the growing needs of the congregation. Now with just over 800 members, the congregation looks forward to a future of continued growth as God's hand guides and leads.
